E38 ( B29) New Cross Fire Station Open day

8/7/2023

240FLM (Call sign-Bravo 293 for the day) headed down to South East London on Saturday 8th July to revisit her spritual home at New Cross Fire Station.
Our Turntable Ladder had spent her first 4 years on operations there from April 1964 to early 1969 before heading off for the remainder of her formal career at Wandsworth in SW London.
A good crowd of interested public spent the day viewing the old and the new appliances of the LFB at the annual open day. The LFB Cadets were treated to short but exciting rides on one of the new fleet of arial appliances from E31 Forest Hill and onlookers were able to compare and contrast what we had then, and what we have now to serve the population of the metropolis.

Another lovely day which the group were proud to have supported.

As ever, all images are copyright to the photographers, Paul Wing and Paul Wood and no unauthorised copying or reproduction is permitted without prior approval. many thanks.
