Dany Cotton. QFSM. Former Chief Officer and Commissioner of the London Fire Brigade.
President


Dany joined the LFB in 1988 having completed her initial training at the former Southwark Training Centre in South East London. Her initial posting was to Wimbledon and since then has attended many operational incident of note, including, and shortly after her posting to station,the Clapham train disaster of 1988. In June 2017, she arrived at the Grenfell Tower fire in North Kensington to be met by an incident which tested all involved to the absolute maximum.
Amongst many accolades, Dany has been named as the National Chair of Networking Women in the Fire Service. She retired from the LFB in december 2019.

Colin Farrington. Chairman & vehicle technician.


​Colin joined the Fire Service in 1976 serving in Cambridgeshire and
Norfolk before transferring into the LFB in 1990.
During his LFB service he was stationed at Kingsland Road & Millwall and latterly at NE Staff (Stratford).
He retired in 1997 after sustaining a knee injury.

Paul Settle
​Deputy Chairman


Paul retired from the LFB in 2001 having served in H,K,B & C Divisions, North East Area, Eastern Command and Brigade Headquarters. He is currently a self-employed Fire Risk Assessor. Non employment currently includes General Secretary of the Firefighters Memorial Trust as well as holding office, or just assisting, in a number of other groups.

Steve Houston

​Steve joined the  LFB in September 1977, and, after prolonged training due to the National Strike, was posted to G24 Hendon R/W in April 78.On formation of the  Green Watch, a transfer to Hendon G/W April occurred in 1979.  Steve then went on to serve at J24 Walthamstow G/W  and, on promotion, to F29 Leyton G/W . Steve’s last move was as a temp, then substantive Sub O in 1995 to F40 Wennington W/W  where he served until  retirement in April 2009 having completed 31 years 7 months.

​Joined the London Fire Brigade in September 1974, served as a fireman at L26/F39 Hornchurch on the Blue Watch. Retired following an injury when a ceiling collapsed.

​This project was Steve's idea.

Trevor Barnwell
Vehicle Technician


Began his Fire Service career in 1966 as a junior fireman at the former training centre in Swanley, Kent. On completion of his training he was initially posted to C30 Holloway, Later transfers included C22 Kingsland Road and then a move out of the LFB into Buckinghamshire F.B. Returning to London, Trevor was again posted to the old C divison at C26 Barbican and later C21 Shoreditch, C Div. HQ, C23 Stoke Newington and finally L25 Dagenham Trevor retired in 1983 following an on duty accident.

Interested in the fire brigade since being taken to an open day at Tottenham Fire Station in 1964.

Began to 'chase' Tottenham crews to fires on his pushbike aged 14 capturing images with his trusty camera. Joined the brigade in 1979. He carried a camera everywhere whilst riding at Wembley, Tottenham, Stoke Newington and Holloway.

​Now working as a Paramedic with the London Ambulance Service.

Pete Weight
Quartermaster & Website


Joined the London Fire Brigade in January 1972 and was after training at Southwark TC. Initially posted to G30 Wembley. Later serving at West Hampstead, G Div HQ, Belsize, Willesden, Hendon, Northolt, Stanmore, Harrow, Ruislip, and finally Sub O on the Red Watch at North Kensington, he retired in 1999.
